Dental Bonding

We are excited to help craft your perfect smile! After discussing what types of results you are looking for, we will closely examine the condition of your teeth and determine if dental bonding is the best route. It is a fairly simple process that can make a big difference in your smile.

image-dental-bondingDental Bonding is used to:

  • Repair decayed, chipped, or cracked teeth.
  • Improve the appearance of discolored teeth.
  • Change the shape of teeth or make teeth look longer.
  • Close spaces between teeth.
  • Protect a tooth’s root that is exposed due to receding gums.

Advantages of Dental Bonding:

There are many advantages to dental bonding: it can usually be completed in one office visit (depending on the number of teeth involved); less enamel is removed from your teeth compared to other cosmetic options; anesthesia is normally not required; and it does tend to be an easy, affordable method that produces great results.

The Bonding Process:

First we will choose a composite resin color that matches the color of your tooth/teeth. In order to bond the composite resin, your tooth will be slightly roughened and covered with a conditioning liquid. We then apply the resin, mold it to your tooth, and shape it. We use a laser to harden the material. Lastly, after it is hardened, we will perfect it with any needed shaping/trimming and apply a polish (to match the sheen of the rest of the surface). It takes somewhere between 30 and 60 minutes per tooth.
